applies to every account

the rules everyone agrees to

by creating a thaypley account, you agree to all of the following. these apply regardless of account type.

you own your content. thaypley does not claim ownership over anything you post, upload, or create on the platform.
your data is yours. thaypley does not sell your personal data to third parties. ever. we do not use your information to train AI models without your explicit consent.
no algorithm. your feed shows content from people you follow, in chronological order. thaypley does not suppress, boost, or reorder your content based on commercial relationships.
no feed ads. thaypley does not serve third-party ads in your feed. ad revenue that exists on the platform flows directly to creators — not to thaypley operating revenue.
you must be 13 or older to create an account. certain features require you to be 18 or older.
one account per person. creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions, game the starcrossed algorithm, or manipulate payouts is a platform violation.
you are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
thaypley may terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in harassment, post illegal content, or attempt to manipulate platform systems.

privacy: thaypley collects only the data necessary to operate the platform. your birth chart data (if entered for starcrossed) is used solely for that feature and is never sold or shared with third parties.

for users subscribing to thaypley(tunes) or thaypley(spectrum) to stream music and access platform content.

the founder rate ($1/mo) is locked for life for qualifying early subscribers. it cannot be transferred to another account.
subscriptions are personal. sharing login credentials to allow others to access paid content is a violation.
free tier users choose at signup: Ad Mode (full content, ads play) or Limit Mode (regular content, no ads). changeable anytime in settings.
90% of every subscription dollar flows into the artist/creator payout pool. thaypley retains 10%.
payout rates float monthly based on pool size ÷ total streams. thaypley does not guarantee a fixed per-stream rate.
cancellation takes effect at end of current billing period. no partial refunds for unused time.

payout model

two-pool model. subscription revenue and ad revenue are tracked separately. each pool ÷ total plays that month = floating per-unit rate. your payout = your plays × each pool's rate.
zero streams = zero payout for that month. your account and catalog are unaffected.
full plays only. partial plays do not count toward payout calculations.
monthly payouts require a connected Stripe account. itemized statements show sub pool and ad pool earnings separately.

upload & ownership

$15/year artist upload subscription is the only direct fee thaypley charges artists. everything else runs through the 90/10 split.
you retain full ownership of your recordings. uploading to thaypley transfers no rights to the platform.
profile song opt-in is per-track and off by default. when opted in, non-subscribers hear a 30-second preview. previews generate no payout — they are promotional exposure you chose.

empire creator tiers

empire(rising): 10,000 followers + 1,000 watch hours + manual review. revenue share: 90/10.
empire(elite): 100,000 followers + 25,000 watch hours + manual review. revenue share: 91/9 + priority placement + priority support.
follower-farming or watch hour manipulation will result in disqualification and account action.
studio content licensing is non-exclusive, minimum 12 months, auto-renewing. thaypley acquires streaming rights only — no broadcast, theatrical, or download rights.

label linking: if a label requests to link to your catalog, you always see the exact permission set before you accept. your payout is always paid directly to you by thaypley. a label can never intercept your share.

transaction fees by plan: free tier: 8% · premium(pley): 5% · premium(pro): 3%. fees are deducted before payout.
85/15 split applies to all boutique sales. thaypley's 15% covers platform infrastructure, payment processing, and discovery.
you are responsible for listing accuracy, order fulfillment, and compliance with consumer protection laws.
thaypley is not a party to transactions between you and buyers. disputes are handled through the platform mediation system.
verified brand badge can be revoked for violations of listing standards or platform policies.

one-of-a-kind only. every listing must be a unique individual item. no duplicates, no bulk lots, no multi-quantity listings.
real photos required. actual photos of the specific item only. stock images, manufacturer photos, and AI-generated images are prohibited.
bulk lot sourcing is prohibited. purchasing bulk and listing individually — even if items appear unique — is considered bulk reselling and violates these terms.
sold items archive permanently. past pieces stay visible on your boutique history. you cannot delete sold item listings.
misrepresenting non-vintage items as vintage will result in listing removal and account review.

label accounts

label terms

for record labels linking to artist catalogs on thaypley(tunes). artist protections are non-negotiable.

catalog linking & deal types

distribution deal: label distributes music, artist retains master ownership. limited permissions — co-sign required for track removal.
ownership deal: label owns master recordings. full catalog permissions — label authority on removal. artist notified as courtesy.
contract upload required before any permissions activate. thaypley trust & safety verifies within 3 business days.
artists always see the exact permission set before accepting. no hidden permissions.
misrepresenting deal type results in link removal, reclassification, and a trust & safety strike on the label account.

payouts & splits

split-at-source. thaypley pays the artist their share directly. the label receives their share separately. labels never touch the artist's money.
split scope: label splits apply to thaypley(tunes) streaming revenue only. tips, closet sales, merch, and all other revenue go 100% to the artist — never subject to a label split.
split changes require mutual confirmation. neither party can change the split unilaterally.

artist rights

artists can always leave. only the artist initiates an unlink. you cannot force or prevent one.
mediated exits have a firm 14-day cap. revenue is held in escrow and released at the contracted split when the billing cycle closes.
coercing an artist into accepting a link is a trust & safety violation and may result in label account suspension.

major label tier: labels with 20,000+ tracks operate on fully negotiated custom agreements. contact thaypley biz dev. royalty distribution to individual artists on your roster remains entirely your responsibility.

starcrossed

starcrossed terms

five souls. one star. what you agree to when you let the universe do its work.

birth chart data consent. by entering your date, time, and place of birth, you consent to thaypley using that data solely to calculate your natal chart and assign your star role. this data is never sold, shared, or used for any other purpose.
role assignment is permanent. once your star completes, your role cannot be changed, disputed, or appealed. the algorithm read your chart. this is by design.
stars are private. your star membership and role are private to your five points. thaypley does not make this publicly visible without your consent.
substitution threshold is 24 consecutive months of inactivity with no login and no response to two re-engagement notifications. the universe is patient.
manipulating star formation — including deleting and recreating accounts to escape a star — is a platform violation. the algorithm identifies the pattern.
universe beacon integration. on your star's yearly cosmic date, a beacon activates at each point's home base in thaypley(universe). the event is publicly visible to other players but your identity is never revealed.

thaypley(suite)

suite beta terms

for creators accessing thaypley(design), Lens Studio, thaypley(animate), and the full creative suite.

suite is currently in beta. access is provided as-is. features may change or be removed during beta without notice.
.tp* file formats (.tpd, .tpp, .tpv, .tpa) are open JSON-based specs owned by the thaypley ecosystem. your files are yours. thaypley claims no ownership over the content of your .tp* files.
beta feedback may be used to improve the suite. it does not grant thaypley any rights over your creative work.
pricing will be determined post-beta. beta users receive advance notice before any charges take effect.
thaypley(architect) accounts receive lifetime suite access, activating automatically when suite exits beta.
